Bonn, 25 September 2023. On 20 September 2023, the German Bar Association (DAV) reappointed its Executive Committee in Berlin and elected Redeker partner Dr Ulrich Karpenstein from the Board to the Executive Committee. In his office as Vice President of the German Bar Association, Karpenstein will be carrying forth with his commitment to German lawyers' professional association.
“I am pleased that the Board of the German Bar Association has vested its trust and confidence in me and entrusted me with the position of Vice President, and I will contribute my legal and European policy experience to promoting a strong and independent legal profession,” Dr Karpenstein commented on his election.
Dr Ulrich Karpenstein has been a lawyer with the Redeker Sellner Dahs law firm since 2000. He practices in European and constitutional law as well as public commercial law and has acted as counsel in many proceedings before the European Court of Justice and the Federal Constitutional Court. In addition, Dr Karpenstein is co‑editor of inter alia Neue Juristische Wochenschrift (NJW), the European Journal of Economic Law (EuZW) and a commentary on the ECHR.
Many of the firm's lawyers have been involved in professional associations for decades. In addition to the founding associates of the law firm, who were involved in various associations and organisations for many years, Prof. Dr. Andreas Frieser is Chair of the German Bar Association's Legislation Committee on Inheritance Law, Dr. Frank Fellenberg is the European Commissioner of the Environmental Law Committee and Dr. Roya Sangi is the European Commissioner of the Constitutional Law Committee.
