Advising the Federal Ministry of Education and Research on the implementation of a new funding programme in compliance with state aid law (volumen EUR 550m) for strategic cooperation between universities and industry. Providing legal advice and acting as counsel for the Warnow‑Wasser- und Abwasserverband in a review procedure by the Commission of fundamental importance to the re‑municipalisation of water supply and wastewater disposal in the greater Rostock area.
Regularly advising large municipalities and municipal holding companies on the financial and contractual relationships within the municipal group in accordance with state aid law. Advising the German Society for International Cooperation on the model project „H2Global“ to promote the market ramp‑up of green hydrogen (funding volume 900 million euros). Acting as counsel for a German Land before the Commission with regard to the pre‑notification of a support framework for the expansion of ultra‑fast broadband infrastructures. Acting as legal counsel for the Quarzwerke Group before the ECJ in an action against the Commission concerning investment aid granted by the Slovak Republic to a competitor (Case T‑745/17). Action for annulment before the ECJ and application for an interim injunction against the Commission’s procedure reviewing the German Renewable Energy Act (EEG) (Case T‑291/14).
